Happiness Binder: An Easter Update

Image
Happy Easter!   The sun is shining here in New York and it’s supposed to be a lovely day (I’ll ignore the reports for showers later on today).   It seems that the weather has finally turned (minus a cold hiccup for mid-week) and I am hopeful that all sinus issues will be resolved soon (though I’ll be heading back to the doctor this week to make sure nothing else is going on).   In any event, I thought the perfect post for today would be to discuss the update to my Happiness Binder , never mind the fact that I’ve had this topic on my list for months .   You can read all about the previous set up in the link above. So, how has it changed?  Let’s recap the original set up. First, I previously had two sets of tabs for everything I wanted to include. The tabs included: Health Running Resistance Yoga Calm Gratitude Happiness Music Books Quotes Notes Articles (You can read the full post above for an explanation of each section.) Se...

Housekeeping Stuff, Meet Up Info, and General Randomness

This post contains a few random bits of things I want to mention.   First, some (blog) housekeeping stuff.   As I mentioned last time , I have been contemplating removing myself from Paper Lovestory ’s “ My Week ” feature.  I love doing it and seeing what others have been up to, but unfortunately, I just don’t have the time to do it every week and keep up with my regular posts.  With that said I’ve decided to keep it but alter it just a bit.  I am going to make it a monthly feature rather than a weekly one (probably towards the end of each month).  I’ll be able to show you more interesting days as opposed to bore you all with snippets from work each time.  I will rename the feature (on my blog) “My Filofax Days” to reflect the change here.  Thank you to Paper Lovestory for inviting all of us to join her in her awesome weekly feature!  I’ll start this at the end of April since I’ve already done a few for March. If you read my posts t...

A Moment of Solace: My Filofax Week: March 11 – 17, 2013

Image
Another week where not much happened.   I’m still getting over being sick.   Monday night saw me canceling yet more plans due to not feeling well.   Ugh.   I am feeling better , but I wouldn’t say I’m back to my old self.   I honestly think I’m having some sort of allergic reaction to something in the air.   And since my last allergy test was less than three years ago (they don’t like to retest for three to five years), the doctor is a little reluctant to do another at this point.   But I may have to demand it.   Currently I’m on an antibiotic (a new one, after having a reaction to the originally one prescribed), so I’ll wait until I’m finished with it and see where I’m at before going that route. I have been feeling a little down because of not feeling well.  Anxiety has been trying to creep in, and as much as I’ve been able to keep it at bay, I fear that one of these days it will overtake me.  I don’t want to go down that...

My Filofax Week: March 4 – 10, 2013

Image
This week’s pages look busier than usual because I’ve kept up with keeping track of what I eat on my daily pages.   As I said last week , I don’t know how long I’ll keep up with that, but for now it’s working. The week started off with a migraine, which is not so great, but I survived. On Tuesday, we had a special election here.   I voted! Wednesday, nothing special happened. Thursday (sorry for the poor quality—I’m still getting used to taking photos with the iPhone) I woke up feeling yucky and left work early.   Thursday night I barely slept for feeling so awful (congestion, cough, chills, body aches, but no fever, thankfully). I stayed home from work on Friday so there is nothing to show there.  I had to miss a birthday dinner, which stinks.  But thanks to FaceTime , I was able to see the candles being blown out. This weekend is the first in almost a month that I’m not working.   That’s great considering I’m ...

Planner Sighting at Starbucks

Image
Source The other day, I went to Starbucks for lunch.   As I settled myself into one of their comfy leather chairs, I noticed a couple at a table.   They each had laptop with them, each doing work of some kind.   After a second look, I noticed an open planner next to the girl’s laptop.   From where I was sitting, I couldn’t see much detail.   However, it looked as though it may have been a DayTimer or Franklin Covey (definitely not any Filofax binder).   It appeared to be an A5 style , perhaps something similar to this or this .   I don’t know if it was an open style binder or a snap style, but it definitely was not a zip binder.   From what I could tell, the inserts were two pages per day, something similar to this , though they could have been a page per day.   It was a little difficult to tell.   I tried to sneak a peek as I walked by, but I didn’t want to be too obvious in my nosiness.   I thought about going over and ...

My Filofax Week: February 25 – March 3, 2013

Nothing too exciting happened (or will happen) this week.   Thankfully, it was less eventful than last week . On Monday, I experimented with something new: I kept track of what I ate for each meal by writing it down on the day itself.   I did this for the first half of the week but I’m not sure I’m a fan of this.   I don’t really like other people being able to see what I’ve eaten for some reason.   I haven’t made up my mind if I will stick with this for next week or not.   We’ll find out in next week’s post, I guess. I finished my latest audiobook ( One Breath Away by Heather Gudenkauf ) on Thursday. I highlight my book titles (and movies I’ve seen) in purple.   I don’t really need to keep them here since I do keep track of them elsewhere.   But I like adding fun facts like this to my planner. This morning I took Winston back to the vet for a post-op check up.  He did great!  His mouth is healing well. ...
