Quo Vadis Journal 21

Image
I have been an admirer of Quo Vadis planners for a while now.  While I had not purchased any planners or notebooks from them, I perused the options often.  I love the way a bound planner looks and how it works for so many people.  For me, for my planner, only rings will do .  I love the versatility and flexibility rings provide when it comes to planning my days.  However, I do love the look of the Quo Vadis Journal 21 .  I love the large open space of each day.  I love the timed slots.  I love the potential that comes with this book. Some time in late summer, I bought a 2017 Journal 21 to try out, thinking I might like to use it as a planner for 2018, just to try something different.  Upon arrival, I promptly moved in, copying all of my appointments and tasks over.  And before I was finished, I knew it wasn’t going to work for me.  Sadly, I left the 2017 Journal 21 mostly unused. That didn’t stop me from entering the Jour...

Planner Update (January 2018)

Image
Here’s a quick little 2018 planner update! Basically, everything is the same as before , though there are some slight changes, which I will cover in separate posts going forward.  I have been using my two Van der Spek binders-- Cappuccino and Daisy --rotating them depending on the seasons. Currently I’m using my Cappuccino binder (for fall and winter). Upon opening, I still have a fall picture of Vermont with a quote I love: “Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” On the back side of the that, I have my Vermont “Love” sticker. For this year, I also stuck a sticky note there with a quote for 2018: Then, I have my quick little dashboard with a few stickies. The first section is a small smattering of note pages. I have been keeping all general lists, and some detailed lists, in digital format, mainly because it’s easier for me to access them on the go and around the house.  I have switched from Wu...

2017 Goals and Planner Set-Up

Image
Hello, and happy 2017! Once again, a new post is long overdue.   It seems that I just never have time to write anymore, or perhaps I don’t make time for it anymore.   Either way, I do miss writing.   So one of my goals for 2017 is to get back to it, even if it’s only once in a while. Which brings me to my goals for 2017. There are many. I’m not sure why I have so many this year, except that I have a lot more going on these days than I used to.   My life has many areas, and each area seems to have its own goals. I had ideas for my goals swimming in my head throughout December, and shortly after Christmas, I had to get them all out.   I started with a generic brain dump, just getting every idea I had out of my head and on paper. (Forgive the bad writing, as I was riding in a car at the time.) Once I had all of the generic ideas down, I wanted to flesh them out a little, add more detail to each one. Once I had the detail...

The State of Things

Image
Hello!   It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted, and I have to say, it feels good to be at it again, even if this is just a post to update you on my whereabouts. Things have been busy around here.   As mentioned in my last post , we have our condo on the market.   It’s not been as busy in this area as I would like, but still, it’s going.   We’ve hosted several open houses, and we’ve had people make appointments to see it.   No one has yet to make an offer we can accept, but people are looking, and that’s something.   But it’s not just us; other condos aren’t selling either.   It’s simply the market and/or the time of year.   I am confident that it will sell; it’s only a matter of when. In the meantime, we’ve been spending our weekends going to every open house we’re slightly interested in.   We’ve seen some that have potential and many that do not.   Either way, we’re learning what we want, what we don’t want, and what is...

Guinness: The Black and Tan(ish) Personal VDS

Image
Back during the Van der Spek April 1 sales (yes, I’m that far behind in my posting), I bought my third VDS customized binder.   So now, in addition to Cappuccino and Daisy , I now have Guinness.   (Why am I compelled to name each of my binders?) Guinness is made of the Nero nappa leather on the outside and the Barbie nappa on the inside.   Each has the contrasting stitching. The inside left has a secretarial pocket. The inside right is the standard pocket configuration. As far as content, the layout of my planner is still the same . What is different, as you may have noticed, is that this planner is the standard/personal size (25 mm rings), which isn’t uncommon in the planner world, but is uncommon in my world. Since Filofax first introduced the Compact binders back in 2011 , I have used them exclusively.   Carrying a compact allows me to streamline what I take out of the house with me, limiting me to only those things ...
