My Filofax Week: March 4 – 10, 2013

This week’s pages look busier than usual because I’ve kept up with keeping track of what I eat on my daily pages.  As I said last week, I don’t know how long I’ll keep up with that, but for now it’s working.

The week started off with a migraine, which is not so great, but I survived.

On Tuesday, we had a special election here.  I voted!

Wednesday, nothing special happened.

Thursday (sorry for the poor quality—I’m still getting used to taking photos with the iPhone) I woke up feeling yucky and left work early.  Thursday night I barely slept for feeling so awful (congestion, cough, chills, body aches, but no fever, thankfully).

I stayed home from work on Friday so there is nothing to show there.  I had to miss a birthday dinner, which stinks.  But thanks to FaceTime, I was able to see the candles being blown out.

This weekend is the first in almost a month that I’m not working.  That’s great considering I’m still not feeling well—still coughing and tired, and today I have absolutely no voice.  I had to back out on plans to attend a St. Baldrick’s event.  DH was going to get his head shaved in honor my friend’s daughter who is a cancer survivor (officially cancer-free for a year now!)—I would have loved to witness that, but alas, we’re staying home instead.

Tonight we change the clocks an hour ahead.  The weather is milder now, after another snowfall.  Spring is only days away.  Hopefully, this is the end of feeling yucky and the beginning of warm sunny days ahead.

  1. Sorry to hear that you are feeling poorly, but it sounds like you might be slowly getting to the end of it? Have a question on your Martha Stewart drop shaped stickies, do they keep their sticky for a long time or just mediocre with using them from week to week? I am still debating on getting them for my Filofax's Holborn A5 AND Personal zip in brown. I would be using them for bill marking from month to month. Thanks for the input and the post. My blog is still,a work in progress at TerriRyan35.blogspot.com.

    1. Thanks for your comment. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting better, and other times, not so much. S l o w l y.

The Martha Stewart stickers do hold most of their sticky for quite a while, at least in my case. The first time you use it and want to peel it up, it's a bit difficult. After that, the part you originally peeled it up from (in my case, the pointy part of the tear drop) sticks up a little from then on. And although it annoys me from time to time, it makes peeling it up a little easier. The rest of the sticker stays pretty sticky for a long time. I move mine from week to week usually, depending on the sticker, some are month to month, and some are every few months. For bills, assuming you're moving them from month to month, I'd say you could use them for at least four months, if not longer. In my opinion, they're definitely worth the money since you get two or three or four sheets in a pack (I can't remember off the top of my head). While I love my post-it's, these are better for the smaller notations (like bills) since they take up less room. I hope this answers your question.

I will add your blog to my list and my reader - thanks for letting me know!

    2. Just to add my input, I move my MS drop stickers from week to week and they are still very sticky after about 2 months. I woulddefinitely recommend them!

    3. Thanks so much for the input! I will be trying them then, as soon as I get some more funds. I figure it's at least worth a shot!? Hope you are feeling better! :) seems I have been under the weather these last few days :( Story of my life! Hehe....

  2. Kanalt,

You mentioned tracking what you are eating, and I wanted to share what I've been using for the past couple months. I was inspired at the end of January to start tracking meals and exercise, but didn't want to use my Filofax. After searching around, I ordered Moleskine 2013 12 Month Daily Planner Colour-A-Month from Amazon. They are dated, the PERFECT size to tuck into my personal planner, and the paper quality is great too! This is one of the best investments in health and fitness that I've ever made.

    1. Funny you should mention Moleskine. In an attempt to come up with something other than using my Filofax for this, I thought I could get a small plain Moleskine for this very purpose. I'll have to look into the options. Thanks for the suggestion!
